GUESS WHO IS LEAVING FOR UGANDA?!?!?!?!?!

YEP! I AM GETTING ON A PLANE MONDAY, NOVEMBER 9TH and bringing home my baby girl! AND guess who is walking now? YEP! MY BABY GIRL! Come on! Say it with me....GOD IS GOOD....ALL THE TIME!
When we first contemplated the adoption process with Josie, one of my biggest fears was her not walking. She is three years old and wasn't showing any signs of walking. She crawled around and could stand with help, but had NO interest in taking those steps! Logistically, I was trying to picture my life with a child in a wheelchair and 6 others piling out of my van. After deciding to definitely pursuit the adoption, I started CLAIMING that she was not only going to walk, BUT RUN across the 5 acres that Mike and I live on. God has even given me visions of her little pom pom head bouncing around in the grass. When asked what her "special needs" are, I have answered blah, blah, blah AND she's not walking yet. You can see their facial expression change....their minds thinking...."she's three and not yet walking...yikes..not good" and I have claimed "BUT SHE IS GOING TO! SHE IS GOING TO CHASE HER BIG BROTHERS ALL OVER THE YARD!" Not to mention that i am going to buy her the FANCIEST most comfortable shoes that her little piggies have ever felt!
I am flying out Monday the 9th and will return Monday the 16th at 2:30. Mike is going to stay here with the kiddos this time. I never thought I would ever be excited to go to Africa alone....but I sure am! I can't wait to get my lips on those little cheeks of hers! I know without doubt that the Lord has something special planned for Josie Love. I am so excited to hold HIS hand while HE leads us through her life.
Please pray for safe travels, for Mike and my children while I am away (is he SUPERDAD or what?!?!) and that we can keep her well through the winter.
And last, but certainly not least...WE HAVE OUR NEW PRODUCTS ONLINE! Buy your Christmas presents at 147millionorphans.com and feed a child in Uganda with each purchase! The tees feed a child for a week and the bags feed a child for 2 weeks or more. In this video we are feeding the children of Amazima Ministries. A percentage of our proceeds also feed the Karamajong children (the street children of Uganda). All products are tagged with our story and explanation of what the product is for.

Yipee! yahoo! Praise the LORD! He is good.
BTW, my sweet Ellie didn't walk until she was four, completely didn't needs, but she is walking now. As a matter of fact, I just posted a video of her today, comparing her progress walking from February this year until now. I'd be honored if you checked it out.
I think it will make you smile and strengthen your vision!

I cant believe she's walking now! Wait... YES I CAN!!! She got exactly what she's been needing... her family's LOVE and one on one attention. Amani and the mamas do a wonderful job but there's something about FAMILY. I"m praising God for all the affection you guys have been able to lavish on her and for the love to come. Hooray!!!! I want to see this beautiful girl asap when you get some time to rest from the journey! Love you!!!

Josie's new song, put's a HUGE smile on my face, love it. I'm praising God for her walking and scheduled travels & HOMECOMING! I'm so thankful for your example, your willingness to share your journey, your honesty, and the beauty of God's plan unfolding as a child surrenders to Him. I want you to know, your life, your journey to Josie, has made an eternal difference in the life of my family. Our path has permanently been altered, all because of an email request for clothes, that led to Katie's blog, that led to you and Gwen. We have said, "YES, to whatever God has for us...and we believe He is leading us to Uganda for we have children waiting for us. We are trying to contact ABC now. Thank you for sharing your heart. We will be covering you all in prayer. Can't wait for your & our next chapter to begin.

Couldn't wait to get home and read the news for myself (love the song -- I'm tapping my foot even as I type!). We are so happy for you all, especially having Josie home for Thanksgiving! I love the song, and we are so excited about what God is doing in your lives and what He is able to abundantly do when we ask and trust. What a blessing it will be to have Josie Love as a part of our family and see what God is going to do one day at a time. Pop and I are covering you all in prayers, and I will look forward to being there some with the other grandchildren next week. Each one is so special. Our Love!

Hi, I have been following your blog for a couple months now and I am truly touched by your story. My husband are praying about adopting a child from Uganda. Do you have any advice or guidance in doing this? I live in Atlanta and hardly anyone I know is pursuing adoption in Africa. God has used your blog and many others to pierce our hearts. My friend from high school is Courtney Strubel Armistead. She told me she knew you. Praying that everything goes well on your journey to Uganda to pick up sweet Josie Love!
