Josie Love Update pics/ One Million Arrows: Will your family change the world?
UPDATE PICTURE NUMBER 4:(they still "squint" when she smiles..YAAAY!)
There is still quite a bit of swelling and discoloration...hopefully to be gone in a few more weeks. Does she not just make you smile?!?!?
There is still quite a bit of swelling and discoloration...hopefully to be gone in a few more weeks. Does she not just make you smile?!?!?
But my life is worth nothing unless I use it for doing the work assigned me by the Lord Jesus- the work of telling others the Good News about God's wonderful kindness and love. Act 20:24
This verse comes to the forefront of my mind often these days. Probably, because more days than not, I am crying out to Him "why Lord? why does life HAVE to be so hard? can I not just get up and eat breakfast without having to clean up 7 spills/messes in between each bite?"
During my time away I have had the chance to read a few books. One of which is ONE MILLION ARROWS by Julie Ferwerda. I spend a lot of time thinking "how do I train his/her heart in this particular circumstance? This book has quite a few tools and resources to apply to your parenting. About Me
- suzanne
- I am a lover of Jesus. I have the most fabulous husband that anyone woman could ask for. The Lord has blessed us with 7 beautiful children. I started this blog so that friends and family could follow our trip to Uganda to visit Katie Davis. I have decided to keep blogging to help bring orphan awareness to the world around me.

She is a doll baby!!! We loved/love that book! It's so good and right where we're at right now. I was encouraged!
That last picture made me laugh.. then tears. Then I read your comment below it, "doesnt she just make you laugh" YES! Her beauty melts my heart.
Your Josie Love makes me smile BIG!
I want to read that book, I've heard so many families talk about how great it is....must get it!
Your work you are doing for your family and for His Kingdom is hard I am sure...usually the things worth eternal value are the things that don't come the easy way! Praise the Lord you said YES to HIS way!
Wow! I just got done typing my blog and I came to yours. It feels like you typed that just for me. What you said about the 7 spills. I am a neat freak and have been stressed about getting everything neat and tidy for our new placement. It took the joy out of it. I wasn't setting a good example to my kids. That verse was perfect for me so I added it to the bottom of my post. Thanks so much for that!
p.s. Josie looks beautiful!
YES, little Miss beautiful Josie Love makes me smile big time! keep on doing what you're doing for Him, suzanne!
Oh ... how she makes me smile!!!
We will be coming "home" for summer break on July 2nd. Praying there is an adoption fellowship gathering that I can crash and love on all these new little ones.
Love & Blessings from Hong Kong,
I have been following your blog since you first came home with Josie Love and it occurred to me that I have never left a comment. Your story (and her story, now that they are forever intertwined) have touched me deeply. I adore seeing her updated pictures and wish I could hear the fanfare she receives at the drs office. (And everywhere else, it seems!)
I know God has already blessed you and your husband for following this calling He had for your life. But every time I read a new post I pray that He fills you up to overflowing with love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, gentleness, faithfulness and self-control. Love and patience, of course, being at the very top of the list!
For sure she makes me smile! :D
Yes she does make me laugh!! The last picture is great!
Oh, she is so sweet. I love the pics. Reading your latest updates I love. I was feeling the same as you were in some of those..Love your heart and your precious family.
