josie at the beauty shop
Today is Josie Love's birthday!! I got a sitter to keep my two little boys and what did Josie and I go do? WE WENT TO THE BEAUTY SHOP!! I have never taken her in to get her hair cut and styled because she has really good hair and it really hasn't needed it. As you will be able to see in the video, little sister was NOT happy with me while they were shampooing her hair.
Mike and I were talking about how fun it is to celebrate her life. A child that has never been celebrated, yet brings joy to everyone that she meets. I just wonder how many more there are? She sang "Happy Birthday" to herself all day long. She told Mike tonight "It's mine! It's mine! It's mine!" and when he asked "what is yours?" she answered "MY birthday!!" I bought her a little cupcake for her party tonight because we are celebrating again on Saturday night with family. (figure we might as well make up for lost time...huh?!)
As Josie and I walked out of a store today, I was stopped by an older gentleman. He asked "where is her country of origin?" and I answered "Uganda." His response: "I knew she wasnt from around here because black children from here don't walk with the confidence that she does!" and I said " well, you haven't seen my two little boys because they are from here and they sure have plenty of confidence!" It was at that moment that decided that Gwen is right...I DEFINITELY attract the "crazies!"
My cup is filled to the rim with love and joy for my sweet little angel. I am SO thankful that the Lord gave her to our family as a PRECIOUS PRECIOUS gift. I feel privileged to be able to celebrate her little life on her special day! We will NEVER be to her, ALL that she IS to us! We are truly blessed!

Much love, Lisa Kindred
Hey! I love this post!! We adopted our daughter
through foster care. And our son is almost adopted!
We too attract the crazies!! I had one guy after a
LONG stare down with my children in their double
stroller (front and back one) say that my children looked
like "driving miss daisy!" HA! Lamar (african american(
was in front and jessie(hispanic/white) in back. That
was a good one. Jessie also was very hurt and never
celebrated....we had a huge blow out! She glowed!
stop by sometime...www.zerkles.blogspot.com
Love us some Josie Love! Happy belated birthday, sweet cousin from your Bama family! As always, the video made me cry tears of joy -- the difference from when you first brought her home is incredible!!! Andy
She's so precious! I can't believe the change in her. Happy, happy (belated) birthday, Josie.
